Annapurna Sunrise Trek

The Annapurna Sunrise Trek offers what is possibly the best lower altitude viewpoint to of the inspiring Annapurna range. From the relatively low altitude of 3,210m (10,528ft) you will observe a stunningly panoramic view of the Himalayas. It almost seems that the mountains have been exclusively arranged to let you enjoy the magnificent sunrise at Poon Hill. On this trek your entire journey will be filled with delight. The Annapurna Sunrise Trek also takes you meandering around pun Magar and Ghorepani.  The trek and also passes the Gurung village and on to the Ghandruk Trek. This features rhododendron forests bursting with life and birds of many hues in the spring.

The Experience

The Annapurna sunrise trek begins with an ancient city tour program in Kathmandu. Soon after your flight lands in Pokhara, we take an hour drive to Nayapool from where your trek will start. Happiness walks side by side with you and tenderly reflects your smile when you proceed along the Annapurna Sunrise Trek. The trail winds through a patchwork of valleys, dense mossy forests and past icy waterfalls. Maybe you can stop here to cool your face. The Mesmerizing sunrise view from Poon hill is yet another incredible source of happiness for every trekker. You will experience amazing views of many popular mountains including Mt Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Annapurna I (8091m). After early morning breakfast, the second day is planned for your amazing historical and cultural tour around capital city Kathmandu. The English speaking tour guide will be your companion ( can be provided any language speaking guide) to let you experience our vivid culture image and local life style while visiting the major temples Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath stupa and best of all the majestic historical place Kathmandu Durbar square. At the noon, when your tour gets over, we’ll have a pre-trip discussion and the trek discussion and the trek leader along with other team member will meet you and briefs you regarding trek schedules and every day plans.

The exciting third day starts with early morning preparation being ready for thrilling adventure. Today our journey begins with adventurous flight above the range of beautiful green Hills and White Mountains. Flying over we will reach at another beautiful city Pokhara which nature has arranged majestically, in next 25 Minutes. Pokhara will be a transit for a while as we will take a private vehicle and drive all the way to Nayapool from where our trek starts. We pass through the little town Nayapool, crossing the suspension bridge and reach second point Birethanti. After being checked our permits and TIMS we will stop for Lunch break in Birethanti. Three hours gradually climb to Tikhedhunga will realize you that you are feeling tired.

Today is a demanding day as we have to ascent 1260m to the Ghorepani village. After an hour stone stairs tough climb, the trail goes gently through meadows, cultivated fields and rhododendron forests. Mostly inhabited by Magar ethnicity, Ghorapani is an interesting place with small shop and stalls for selling local products. Ghorapani is one of the most famous and best place for trekkers in Annapurna region, from where we can see an aesthetic View of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan range.

We wake up early in the morning (an hour before sunrise) and start a hike to Poon Hill. Though it is named Annapurna Sunrise Trek, Poonhill is an icon of this trek from where we can see magnificent Sunrise view and Panoramic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Tukuche, Nilgiri (6940m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m) Machapuchre (6997m). The moment will mesmerize you in such a way that you will lift you up yourself you are heaven I sware when your glance starts capturing those wonderful scenic views. After taking photos and having some coffee or tea or, we Trek back to Gorepani. After breakfast, we continue our treks to Tadapani, we head east and climb a nearby ridge (Gurung Hill). We descend through rhododendron forest, pass by spectacular waterfalls along the way and reach Tadapani for overnight.

After a warm morning breakfast we start our trek descent through the dense and dark forest. This part of the trek will be through a thick forest of old rhododendron trees and many other flowers. After three hours walk through the forest and crossing some small stream we enter the village Ghandruk, A slope settlement with stone houses mostly inhabitant by Gurung people. We hike around the village with beautiful views of Fishtail, Hiuchuli and Annapurna South as well we explore rich Gurung culture and tradition at the Gurung Museum in Ghandruk.

Today is our last day of our trek. We trek from Ghandruk till we reach to Nayapul then drive back to Pokhara. The trek will be downhill all the way to Sauli Bazzar and nice wide road to Nayapool along the river Modi. Our trek comes to an end at Nayapul. We drive from Nayapul to Pokhara after that. We can hang around Pokhara lakeside at the evening time. This evening offers you boundless options to choose every hang outs and all these will be your freedom. You can even have local and hand made amazing beautiful products to take Nepal home for your memories.

We choose an afternoon flight to Kathmandu. Till some hours before flight, we may take an optional sightseeing tour within Pokhara or enjoy adventure activities such as boat riding, paragliding, etc. While returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara, we have to be sure to catch the left side of the airplane for great views of the Himalayas. Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, we will be dropped-off at our hotel.

Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today. Approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight, our representative will escort us to the airport and bid farewell greetings. On our way to home, we will have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country like Nepal.
