Kathmandu
In Kathmandu it seems that around every corner there is something to see. Kathmandu boasts no less than seven UNESCO cultural heritage sites. Its buildings and monuments display a significant variety of historic and artistic accomplishment.
Besides the more obvious landmarks there are far too many temples and places of interest to the list. We are therefore very keen to help you discover more than the normal tourist package. For many a trip to Nepal would be incomplete without delving deeper into the culture and lifestyle of Nepal.
Other options
But it’s not all about these architectural and cultural wonders!
You will have many opportunitis to engage in a wide range of spiritual and sporting activities. Mountains encompass the Kathmandu valley. These mountains have a vast and too often overlooked potential for adventure.
Jungle walks provide great opportunities to view the wild animals close up, and bird watching is definitely best on foot.
Pokhara
Pokhora is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. It is famous for boating, trekking, rafting and extreme sports like rafting, canyoning and bungee jumping. The Pokhara Valley encompasses Pokhara city, parts of Sarangkot, Kaskikot and the Phewa Lake. Phewa lake is the second largest lake in Nepal. The reflection of Mount Macchapucchre (Fishtail) can be seen on this lake. Also from Phewa Lake you can witness the two-storied temple of Barahi Bhagwati. This temple is located on an island in the middle of the lake.
Muktinath
Muktinath is a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists, it is located in the Muktinath Valley at an altitude of 3,710 meters at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass (part of the Himalayas in Mustang Nepal). In front of Muktinath Temple there are 2 Kundas (Water ponds) which are generally used for holy dipping and they are believed to hold the power to wash away negative karma and the results of one’s past negative actions. A little below the Muktinath Temple you can see the Tibetan style Jwala Mai Temple which is famous for the waters that issue from the rocks within it.
During your Pilgrimage to the holy place Muktinath you can take a dip in the Kunda holy waters and bathe beneath of 108 waterspouts “Muktidhara”. This is believed to bring about salvation (Moksha) and to fulfil your wishes.

Today’s tour will uncover some of the many historical, spiritual and cultural riches of Kathmandu which boasts no less than seven UNESCO Cultural Heritage Sites. The buildings and monuments display a significant variety of historic and artistic accomplishment.
The Pashupatinath Temple – is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an Elegant and highly decorative Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Temple sits on the banks of Bagmati River and is noteworthy for its pagoda style of architecture and its gilded roof. The rafters feature members of Shiva’s family and its silver plated entrance doors are bordered by statues of deities. Entrance is restricted to Hindus but its exterior is remarkable and well worth the visit. Outside you will see many holy men (Sadhus), and the river banks are a popular place for Hindu cremations. It is one of the most important Temples for Hindu devotees worldwide. During February or March, the day of Maha Shivaratri (an annual festival dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva) is celebrated here.
We will visit the Bouddhanath Stupa which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the holiest Tibetan Buddhist Temple outside Tibet. It is over 328ft (100m) diameter and wall-to-wall length is about the size of a football pitch. Boudhanath is among the largest Stupa in Nepal and one of the largest in the world. The Stupa has 4 eyes which represent the all-seeing ability of the Buddha; they face four prime directions constantly looking out for virtuous behaviour and human success. The Stupa’s nose symbolizes Nirvana.
We will then drive to Patan city to visit more UNESCO world heritage sites including Patan Durbar Square where we will find the Krishna Temple, the Golden temple and the Patan museum.

The main cave comprises two chambers which house several shrines, the largest of which is dedicated to Shiva.
We will visit the two-storied Tal-Barahi temple. According to tradition the goddess Barahi Bhagwati dressed herself as a beggar and visited the area. One by one all of the inhabitants spurned her apart from one woman who showed her kindness. In return she warned that woman that a huge flood was on its way. Accordingly the woman gathered her family together and beat a hasty retreat thus avoiding the inevitable flood which thundered down from the mountains and destroyed the village. Later to show their gratitude the woman and her family build the island and erected the Tal-Barahi temple
