Sunrise On The Himalaya

The Annapurna Sunrise Trek is possibly the best lower altitude viewpoint of the inspiring Annapurna range. From an altitude of 3,210m (10,528ft) you will observe a stunningly panoramic view of the Himalayas. It seems like the mountains have been exclusively arranged to observe the magnificent sunrise at Poon Hill. The entire journey will be filled with delight including meanderings around pun Magar and Ghorepani. The trek passes the Gurung village and on to the Ghandruk Trek. This features rhododendron forests bursting with life and birds of many hues in the spring.

Following an ancient city tour program in Kathmandu we fly to Pokhara, then take an hours drive to Nayapool where your delightful trek begins. The trail winds through a patchwork of valleys, dense mossy forests and past icy waterfalls. Maybe you can stop here to cool your face. The Mesmerizing sunrise view from Poon hill is yet another incredible source of happiness for every trekker. You will experience amazing views of many popular mountains including Mt Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Annapurna I (8091m). This trek is designed for those who want a less demanding but short and beautiful trek in the Annapurna region.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,320m/ 4,329ft)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by our representative . You will be meeting your guide on the same day.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu city

After early morning breakfast, the second day is planned for your amazing historical and cultural tour around capital city Kathmandu. The English speaking tour guide will be your companion ( can be provided any language speaking guide) to let you experience our vivid culture image and local life style while visiting the major temples Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath stupa and best of all the majestic historical place Kathmandu Durbar square. At the noon, when your tour gets over, we’ll have a pre-trip discussion and the trek discussion and the trek leader along with other team member will meet you and briefs you regarding trek schedules and every day plans.

Day 3: Flight (25min) to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft), Trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540m/5,051ft)

This exciting third day starts with early morning preparations for our thrilling adventure. Our journey begins with an adventurous flight to Pokhara above a range of beautiful green hills and white mountains. From here we will take a private vehicle and drive all the way to Nayapool from where our trek starts. We pass through the little town Nayapool, crossing the suspension bridge and reach second point Birethanti. After having our permits checked, we will stop for a lunch break in Birethanti. There is then a three hours gradual climb to Tikhedhunga

Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani (2,860m/9,380ft)

Today is a demanding day as we have to ascent 1260m to the Ghorepani village. After an hour stone stairs tough climb, the trail goes gently through meadows, cultivated fields and rhododendron forests. Mostly inhabited by Magar ethnicity, Ghorapani is an interesting place with small shop and stalls for selling local products. Ghorapani is one of the most famous and best place for trekkers in Annapurna region, from where we can see an aesthetic View of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan range.

Day 5: Early morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210m/10,528ft), and trek to Tadapani (2,630m/8,626ft)

We must wake up early this morning (an hour before sunrise) to start our hike to Poon Hill. From our viewpoint we can see magnificent sunrise views of Mt. Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Tukuche, Nilgiri (6940m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m) Machapuchre (6997m). The scene from here is truly magnificent and breathtaking. After taking photos and having some coffee or tea we Trek back to Gorepani. After breakfast, we continue our treks to Tadapani. We then head east and climb a nearby ridge (Gurung Hill) and then descend through rhododendron forest; we will then pass by spectacular waterfalls along the way and reach Tadapani for our overnight stay

Day 6: Trek to Ghandruk (1,940m/6,363ft)

After a warm morning breakfast we start our trek descent through the dense and dark forest. This part of the trek will be through a thick forest of old rhododendron trees and many other flowers. After three hours walk through the forest and crossing some small stream we enter the village Ghandruk, A slope settlement with stone houses mostly inhabitant by Gurung people. We hike around the village with beautiful views of Fishtail, Hiuchuli and Annapurna South as well we explore rich Gurung culture and tradition at the Gurung Museum in Ghandruk.

Day 7: Trek to Naya Pool and drive back to Pokhara

Today is the last day of our trek. We trek from Ghandruk until we reach Nayapul then drive back to Pokhara. The trek will be downhill all the way to Sauli Bazzar with a nice wide road to Nayapool along the river Modi. Our trek ends at Nayapul. We drive from Nayapul to Pokhara. Here we can linger around the lakeside in the evening or choose from any of the many options for eating and entertainment. Alternatively you can shop for local hand made amazingly beautiful products to take home from Nepal as memorabilia

Day 08: Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu: 30 min flight

We choose an afternoon flight to Kathmandu. Till some hours before flight, we may take an optional sightseeing tour within Pokhara or enjoy adventure activities such as boat riding, paragliding, etc. While returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara, we have to be sure to catch the left side of the airplane for great views of the Himalayas. Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, we will be dropped-off at our hotel.

Day 09: Farewell to Our Guest

Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today. Approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight, our representative will escort us to the airport and bid farewell greetings. On our way to home, we will have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country like Nepal.
