Gautam Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautam or Shakyamuni Buddha is the founder of Buddhism. He is also often referred to as the light of Asia. The lord Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal. Day 01 :Kathmandu Arrival

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by a representative from Apoorva tours. We will drive you to your hotel and get you booked in so you can unwind from your travels, rest and relax. Later we will show you around the popular for tourist area that is the Thamel District where you will find all the services you require including restaurants, supermarkets ATM machines and money exchange facilities. In addition if you have forgotten anything you may need on the trip you will have an opportunity to buy it now.
Once back at your overnight hotel we will have a chat about the upcoming tour and possible options, and you will get to meet our team and the guides who will accompany you throughout the tour.

Day 02 : Kathmandu Sightseeing

Today you will be visiting some of the any places of interest around Kathmandu, for example:
The Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most important Temples in the world for Hindu devotees and it is located close to a location for Hindu cremations on the banks of Bagmati River.
This highly decorative Hindu Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is dedicated to the Lord Shiva. The Temple features a pagoda style of architecture and has a gilded roof, its silver plated entrance doors are guarded by statues of various deities In the rafters you can see effigies of various members of Shiva’s family. However, whilst only Hindus are permitted inside the Temple its exterior is remarkable and well worth the visit. Outside you will see many Sadhus (holy men), and during February or March the annual festival Maha Shivaratri which is dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva is celebrated here.
The Boudhanath Stupa – is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the holiest Tibetan Buddhist Temple outside Tibet. The main section is over 328ft (100m) in diameter and its length is about 360ft (120m). Boudhanath is one of the largest Stupa in the world, it has 4 eyes to represent the all-seeing ability of the Buddha; they face four prime directions constantly seeking out human success and virtuous behaviour. Nirvana is represented by the Stupa’s nose.
The Swayambhunath – is an ancient religious Temple site possibly dating back to 460 A.D it is the oldest of its kind in Nepal and important for both Buddhists and Hindus. This Stupa and has many shrines and monasteries on its premises and is widely known as the “Monkey Temple”. This may be due to the colonies of monkeys that live there, or perhaps it is because “Monkey Temple” is much easier to pronounce than “Swayambhunath”.

Day 03 : Fly to Lumbini

You will be transfered to your hotel and in the afternoon we will visit Lumbini
which is located in the Terai plains of southern Nepal and today we will be exploring the places of importance at Lumbini , these will include The sacred Garden, The Monastic zone and the new Lumbini village zone.
The Gautam Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautam or Shakyamuni Buddha is the founder of Buddhism and the light of Asia. The Lord Buddha was born here in Lumbini, Nepal in 623 BC. This is also further testified by the inscription on the pillar erected by the Mauryan Emperor Asoka in 249 BC. Lumbini is one of the holiest places of one of the world’s great religions. The remains at Lumbini contain important evidence about the nature of Buddhism. Lumbini has additionally been a focus for pilgrimage from as early as the 3rd century BC.

Day 04 : Visit Tilaurakot/ Kapilvastu , Sagarhawa, Gotihawa , KUdan and Niglihawa

We will visit Tilaurakot / Kapilvastu , Sagarhawa, Gotihawa , Kudan and Niglihawa
Tilaurakot has been recognized as the capital of Kapilvastu and home of King Suddhodhan, father of Prince Siddhartha who become the Buddha. The Lord Buddha is believed to have spent his first 29 years here.
Sagarhawa is a forest location where an ancient pond was excavated in 1895,it is believed to be the “Palace of the Massacre of the Shakyas”.
Kudan is the location of what appears to be the ruins of many monasteries and stupas. It is believed that King Suddhodhana met Lord Buddha here.
Gotihawa is a significant religious site for Buddhists world wide. It is believed to be the birthplace of the Krakuchanda Buddha, who preceded the Shakyamuni Buddha, and attained Nirvana here
Niglihawa is where the remains of a broken Ashokan Pillar lie beside a large pond. The Emperor Ashoka built a stupa and pillar here during his pilgrimage. It is believed that Kanakmuni Buddha was born, enlightened and met his father in this place and it is regarded as a very important religious place for Buddhists and researchers.
